Challenge

This homeowner was dealing with water damage in the inside of their attic. Improper ventilation in the attic caused wet sheathing and trusses in the attic. While inspecting this attic, water staining was also evident from areas being affected for weeks.

Solution

On-Site responded, and upon inspection identified that cleaning of discolored sheathing and trusses needed to occur. The source of the problem was identified and fixed. Dehumidified warm dry air was ducted into the attic to provide heat to dry the attic. Cleaning was done to remove discoloration. Once cleaning was completed additional equipment was set to dry as was necessary. An air scrubber was used as well in the room with the attic access. Equipment was removed once all areas were cleaned and dry.
